The workshop has been busy lately, with the sound of metal meeting metal and timber being measured, cut and shaped. Training in welding and carpentry continues, giving the young men an opportunity to develop practical skills while preparing for life beyond the center.
Among those taking part is the young man, James, whose progress has been especially encouraging. He can now be seen helping with the preparation of ugali and assisting others as they work with timber. Not long ago, he needed someone to feed him. Today, he is contributing to daily activities with much greater strength and confidence. The difference is difficult to miss.
Another young man, David, is preparing for a very different kind of return. He left school in Grade 10 earlier this year, but his desire to continue his education has remained. His parents visited him at the center two weeks ago, and together we are working towards getting him back into school at a nearby institution next month.

There is still a little way to go before that plan becomes reality. An appointment with the head teacher is scheduled for the 25th to discuss his return. We ask for prayer that the meeting will open the right door and that the arrangements will come together successfully.
There is also good news to celebrate concerning Alex, who left the center earlier this year. He is completing the final preparations for his return to medical training next month. It is encouraging to see him moving forward with his studies after the difficult season he previously walked through.
Across these different journeys, the needs are not identical. One young man is rebuilding his strength, another is preparing to return to school, while Alex is getting ready to resume his medical education. Yet each development gives us another reason to thank God for the progress taking place.
