Activity surged this month as the workshop area—usually just a pass-through space—suddenly buzzed with energy and purpose. Wooden planks leaned against walls like waiting canvases, and the rhythmic tap of hammers set the tone for days filled with learning and focus.
Sitting Chairs
Their carpentry journey, which began back in August, has shifted from simple practice sessions to tangible production.
The trainees have already completed a set of chairs, each piece showing careful shaping, sanding and alignment. For a group that only recently learned how to balance a plane or square a frame, the results speak louder than any classroom lesson.
They are currently working on building an additional rabbit cage—this time choosing to try the entire process without the instructor’s assistance. They say it’s a chance to gauge how far their skills have grown, and the teamwork around the project shows a new level of maturity and ownership in their training.
As the structure takes shape and the completed chairs find their place, there’s a quiet sense of gratitude among the staff. What we are witnessing is God fostering ability, patience, and discipline in these young men—qualities that will serve them long after the wood dust settles.

At the heart of the centre’s mission is the belief that practical skills open doors—and this week's progress is a reminder that growth often appears in small but meaningful steps.
